7 skills that will make you rich

 Have you ever come across the challenge of not having money? You know what? Financial constraints are never really the root problem. Rather they are merely a symptom of an issue. The true problem lies in lacking the skills to succeed. Have you ever heard stories, about lottery winners who despite acquiring amounts of money end up broke and even worse off than before? Why does that happen? It's because they possess wealth but lack the knowledge and abilities of the successful. Personally I consider myself rich, not solely due to my status. Because I started from scratch with no money and a significant amount of debt. My wealth stems from the skills I have acquired over time. Today I want to share with you seven skills that I have mastered. These skills are crucial if you aspire to achieve success. As we explore each skill together take a moment to reflect and rate yourself on a scale from zero, to ten.


On a scale, from zero, which represents awfulness to ten indicating top tier excellence lets dive in and get started.



Skill number one: The ability to talk to customers persuasively. 


I consider it to be a skill. Are you familiar, with the art of closing? Can you effectively communicate the value of what you offer to clients? Do you know how to ask questions that encourage people to make a purchase? Are you at ease when it comes to conversing with strangers presenting your ideas or showcasing your product or service? Mastering the skill of closing is, in my opinion one of the abilities if your aim is wealth. Whenever you engage in conversations with customers you're closing deals. When negotiating terms with vendors guess what? You're still utilizing your closing skills. When interacting with your employees yes indeed that's also a form of closing. So consider this as the foremost skill, on your journey.


The number two: The ability to speak to groups.


I consider it as the skill of speaking in front of people. You know have you ever wondered what the biggest fear is, for individuals? It's not snakes or even death itself. The greatest fear that many people have is speaking. So why do many individuals feel afraid when it comes to addressing a group? Most of the time it's because they worry about sounding foolish how they appear to others or the possibility of making mistakes. These concerns often come into play. However if we look at leaders like Steve Jobs, Tony Robbins and Warren Buffett we'll notice that they are all public speakers. Public speaking is one skill that has had an impact, on my life. When I joined Toastmasters years ago with the goal of improving my English and reducing my accent I began to see growth through speaking. It helped me develop confidence and self assurance. So ask yourself; Are you afraid of addressing groups? Do you possess the ability to effectively present your ideas to an audience? Can you communicate with conviction and certainty? Are you able to engage with your listeners? Perhaps you even experience sweaty palms in situations.


Perhaps you're similar, to me—when starting out your face may grow pale and your knees might become locked. But don't worry that's completely normal. Public speaking is a skill that can be learned. If you want to achieve wealth its essential to master this ability.


The third skill: The ability to communicate with words in print, or what I call persuasion in print.


I consider this as a skill called copywriting. Now when I say copywriting I don't mean adhering to grammar rules although its practice to do so. What I'm referring to is not the kind of writing taught in schools, like writing; I'm talking about communication. This pertains to forms of communication such, as web content, videos and emails. How can you effectively convey your message through written words? This is crucial because a significant portion of our communication relies on written text; emails we send social media posts we make agreements and contracts we write blog posts we publish. When you possess the skill to communicate effectively through written language it gives you an advantage. Let me illustrate this with an example; Imagine you create a social media post and have a following; that gives you influence because what you write and share is seen by hundreds or even thousands of people. In my case it could reach millions of people. In fact copywriting was the skill I developed when I was young and its the skill that transformed my life.


In my 20s I transformed from experiencing losses and insufficient income to earning $10,000, per month. One of the factors behind this transformation was copywriting. Interestingly schools teach us writing skills. They often overlook the art of copywriting – the ability to effectively communicate using written words. This skill became my weapon, for success; being able to convey messages through print.


Skill number four: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with your team.


When it comes to your leadership abilities effective communication is crucial. It's essential to understand and convey the vision of your company to your team members. Are you able to communicate the vision ? Additionally do you possess the knowledge and skills required to foster a work culture within your organization? Leadership involves more, than effort—it's a collective endeavor that relies on teamwork and organization. Remember, your success, as a leader depends heavily on the strength of your team. Therefore it's paramount to nurture your leadership skills in order to inspire, motivate and guide your team effectively.


Skill number five: The ability to manage and organize your time for maximum results.

 

Some individuals refer to it as time management. I personally consider it as priority management. All we all have the 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. The truth is, you can't actually control time itself because its constant, for everyone. However what you can control are your priorities. What are the important things that deserve your focus? Those key tasks that will make an impact and bring you closer, to achieving your goals. The challenge lies in the fact that schools never taught us how to manage our priorities don't you agree? We go through the motions of doing homework taking exams taking care of our families – juggling responsibilities. We often fail to pause and reflect on why we're engaging in these activities in the first place. What is the ultimate payoff of these actions? These profound questions are often left unanswered. At the end of it all priority management truly boils down to self management – how well do you manage yourself?


And if you can effectively and efficiently manage your time each day while focusing on a few tasks that you know will consistently bring you the desired results then you'll understand why wealthy individuals prioritize their time and avoid engaging in activities that yield minimal financial returns.


Skill number six: The ability to read financial statements.


I refer to this skill as financial literacy. It's unfortunate that schools don't teach it. So how can we gauge our proficiency in this area? Well think of it like your school report card. Are you getting an 'A' or 'B' or a "C'? In the world in business we rely on financial statements, as our scorecards. These statements reveal how well you're doing financially and how effectively you manage your money. Now I know what you might be thinking; "Am I supposed to become an accountant or take accounting courses?" Not at all! However it's crucial to grasp the language of money, that's what financial literacy is about. It involves understanding concepts like balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements. When you glance at these documents it's natural to feel overwhelmed by the numbers or worry about not making money in a year or experiencing losses, in business. Can you read between the lines? What is the statement really telling you?So what's the deal? I mean we're talking about handling our finances right?. It's important to grasp the fundamentals of money related terms, like credit score return on investment, profit and loss capital gain, capital loss and depreciation. These are the words you really need to get a handle on. All you can't make improvements if you don't have an understanding of something.


Skill number seven: The ability to manage your own mind.


I refer to it as your mindset ability. Feeling negative, fearful, envious or experiencing depression, limiting beliefs or procrastination. How do you handle your emotions? How do you manage your thoughts? You see, even if you excel in the six skills and become a master of them all without having the mindset ability they won't be effective. What kind of thoughts are you nurturing in your mind? How often do you find yourself knowing exactly what needs to be done to achieve your goals or desired outcomes but struggle with procrastination?. Perhaps there have been instances where opportunities slipped away because self limiting beliefs held you back from taking action. And what about the times when others believe in you but self limiting beliefs prevent you from believing in yourself? All of these aspects are part of cultivating a mindset.
